    Our mission is to uplift Black youth by providing culturally responsive mental health services and fostering a strong connection to their heritage . We aim to equip young people with the leadership skills they need to become active agents of change in their communities.

  • WHY OUR WORK MATTERS.

    Black youth in Toronto face disapropotionate challenges in accessing culturally relevant mental health services and leadership opportunities. Through feedback from our community , research and success of previous initiatives, we have identified a strong need for continued support in these ares. Our projects are designed to fill these gaps and create lasting positive impacts.

  • OUR PROJECTS

    1. Regent park youth Mental Health Empowerment Series.

    This project , funded by the COMMUNITY CRISIS RESPONSE team under the city of Toronto, Offers a series of workshops focused on mental health and empowerment for Black youth in Regent Park. The series has received strong positive feedback , with participants expressing the need for ongoing support.

    2. Mindful futures After-school program

    Description.

    A mental health - focused after-school program that equips Black youth with tools to manage stress, build emotional resilience, and foster overall well-being . The program provides a safe space for participants to openly discuss mental health , develop coping strategies and practice mindfulness techniques.

    Activities;

    • Mindfulness & Mental health Workshops: Sessions focusing on mental health awareness , meditation, mindfulness and self-care practices.
    • Outdoor Adventures & Nature walks: Guided hikes, nature walks and outdoor games that help youth connect with nature and practice relaxation techniques.
    • Cultural & community -building Activites: Group discussions , team building exercises, and cultural workshops that foster community connection and cultural identity.
    • Holiday celebrations: Hosting culturally relevant holiday celebrations with food , music and community bonding , offering youth an opportunity to unwind and enjoy the holidays in a supportive environment.

    Goal

    To promote mental wellness and cultural pride during school breaks, ensuring youth return to their academic routines feeling refreshed , empowered and connected to their cultural roots.

     

     

    VOICS FOR THE FUTURE CAMPAIGN

    This campaign encourages young people to share their stories and experiences through written pieces , videos,and that art that highlight the issues they care about.
